MEDIEVAL art during the time of the plague
During the medieval time of the plague, the culture of Europe changed. They had been living in a time of religious prosperity so when the plague arrived, many looked to God for answers. Many thought this was God punishing them and condemning society to eternal suffering for their sins. Because of the rapid amount of deaths, many people's views of religion, life and the world changed. Many artists of the time captured this idea of change through paintings (Medrano-Cabral).
